Successful Traits in Sport

Relatively few people in the world know that Australia's cricket team is currently going through a difficult time.  Actually, most Indians would know, so I take that back.  After being virtually unbeatable for 10-15 years, the glory days are well and truly over.  As usually happens in situations like this, everyone assumes that the champions of the old days were gifted players who excelled simply because they wanted to.

Here is a nice article which makes two points I strongly believe in, but somehow get ignored far too often:

1 - Elite success is a result of working very hard for a very long time.
2 - Technical flaws are not things that need to be stubbornly defended and kept as 'part of my game'.  They need to be eliminated in order to increase the chances for elite success.
